Urinary tract infections UTIs are painfully infections, it causes a burning sensation, severe cramping, and pain during urination. The infection is commonly contracted from unprotected sex, high intake of water can reduce the risk of the infection.

Drinking water can prevents the infection, excess water in the body will leads to frequent urination, it is good to pee before and after sex, and to use a condom during sex, to lower the risk of rectal bacteria reaching the urethra.

Drinking more fluids and staying hydrated increase the rate of flushing of bacteria from the bladder and also reduces the concentration of bacteria that enter the bladder from the vagina.
This prevents bacteria from attaching to cells that line the urinary tract, that can cause an infection.

Women are prone to UTIs than men because women’s urethra is shorter-it is easier for bacteria to move from the rectum and vagina to the bladder. Recurrent UTIs can be reduced by staying hydrated.
